Isn't that the ultimate question? Why is that women date bad boys but marry the nice guy?
This was very true to a friend of mine who has NO PROBLEM with men whatsoever. Lets just say that she had flirting and gaining men's attraction down to the T.
So here she is dating all these great looking men, successful, rich men who because of this were also able to get a lot of women.
In other words she was dating a lot of players and kind of rough and tough guys.
So anyways life is all good and then I hear that she is dating this new guy. Things are going pretty strong and they are spending lots of time together.
Then comes the day when I get to meet him and by then they had been going out for quite a while.
So I meet him and my jaw drops.
But not because of the reason that you think.
Not because he is drop dead gorgeous.
Not becuase his personality just blew me away.
But because he was NOTHING, NOTHING like the type of guy she had dated before.
Just probably the opposite of it.
And here is the thing. You could totally tell that he was a nice sweet and genuine guy. He was not going to mess around with her. He was the real deal!
So many of you are thinking ... WHAT??!! WHAT??!!
Why is that?

On another site that I don't visit anymore, I read something to this effect:
"What many people call nice guys are really men who are just uncomfortable with their sexuality and masculinity"
"Bad boys" (I don't like these false dichotomies) by and large are champions in the bedroom. They're not afraid to be up front about who they are and what they want. Can that honestly be said for most people?
Bad boys allow women to explore the fun side. It's a rush for them. Bad boys present a challenge for women. And women like to compete for a guys attention.
Once they get tired of competing... they want someone safe.. they will marry the nice guy.
That's my theory.
I was genuinely impressed, very good, you certainly know your evolutionary psychology--and frankly it sounds to me like now your friend has decided she wants to get hitched so she's found herself a nice guy.
Oh, and just a little help for the guys here: I've found that if you're kind of a bad boy who later turns out to actually be sweet (and sane), that is an absolutely lethal combination because it's sort of the 'holy grail' for what women are looking for--a guy that's got all the attractive traits of a bad boy but none of the negative personality disorders that tend to accompany that stuff and none of the unattractive traits that nice guys tend to have.

Why do girls cockblock for their friends?

@Shaman Girls cockblock for each other generally because they don't believe the guy is a good match (from a logical perspective) and know how much their friend doesn't want to look like a "slut".
They understand their friend is in an emotional state and as such have to protect her from guys that will hurt her afterward (because the more emotional a girl gets, the less logical she gets and the more likely she is to go home with a guy that can spike her emotions (read: a bad boy)).
If you make friends with her friends or she is a girl that often sleeps around her friends won't care and (as I've experienced a few times) will actually try to get the two of you to hook up/go home together.
